ive noticed that my car runs really rich, and people behind me say that when i'm at WOT my car just shoots black smoke and is running hella rich. my motor is a 94 h22a and can't really come up with a reason why, except if the prelude and accord map sensors are different. does anyone know for sure if a 93 accord map sensor will work correctly with a 94 prelude motor? and if i remember correctly i think the prelude map sensor has an extra vacuum line on it. but any help would be great. thanx

its normal... my car has a black smoke all the time when i go wot.. since your mashin it more gas goes in the engine.. to compensate the air/fuel ratio..better to run rich then to run lean... -
How do you know the smoke is from running rich, what colour is it? and I agree its better run rich than lean but rich isnt good either.

could tell: because i have an air/fuel ratio gauge.. every time i mash it.. it goes to rich.. when im driving itll bounce around from lean to stoich to rich.. and when i let off the gas.. it usually goes to lean.. thats when i hear popping sounds off my exhaust..Comment
