details on the build would be great to solve the problem. Could be your injectors are clogged if its hesitating. You mention trouble with the idle but didn't give details. Please do so.Knowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word

you said you changed it from auto to manual but you also said that when you put it in drive it starts to act up...kinda confusing...but yeah, more details on the build and symptons

h23 problems
my bad for taking 2 long to respond i am using my jobs cpu. you want to know what i have. I have mahle 9:1 pistons , crower billet rods and bolts, arp head studs and main bolts polished and balanced crank. ihave prolite fly wheel, exedy stage one clutch, and everything ihave for the motor and trans is new. i am using a 93 lx trans. Now for the prblem the car cranks and starts but it gives u a up and down idle. at first it gave me a tps code so i fixed that still doing the same thing. so it gave a egr code i fixed that. now i'm getting no codes but it still does the same thing. i messed with the throttle cable idle became constant but high, tryed to adjust idle it did nothing but made it go back to its erratic idle. try to put in gear it drives then it goes to erratic idle wont suck any air. checked spark plugs they black from being 2 rich cleaned them off still act the same. done this swap plenty times never had problems like this. need some good suggestions. i think the thottle body is shot don't know yet.

wonder if your compression being altered could have something to do with it. Other possibilities are the FITV or possibly just a loose vac line somewhere or a leaking vac line.Knowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word

You try replacing the ignition rotor and maybe even the coil?
Ignition problems can have similar symptoms...
I'd try new injectors too... use your F22 injectors if you have them laying around...they are the same.
only other thing I could think of is maybe a bad gasket??? TB or one of the manifold gaskets...
and just out of curiousity... did you sleeve that motor? or are you using supposedly FRM compatible pistons & rings?RIP Lifsatrip7

YOU COULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR IDLE AIR CONTROL (LOW COOLANT) COOLANT RUNS THROUGH THE IAC AND THROTTLE BODY SO THAT BEING LOW OR AIR IN THE SYSTEM WILL DO THAT. OR YOU CAN TRY TAKING APART TEH IAC AND CLEAN IT WITH THROTTLE BODY CLEANER OR YOU CAN SPRAY THROTTLE BODY CLEANER AROUND GASKETS ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND ON THE VACUUM LINES AND SEE IF THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY.
P/S THIS IS ONLY FROM EXPERIENCE
I TOO HAVE A H23
