    which belt for a/c???

okay. i've had the swap in a while, and have went through like 3 belts. didn't think to ask, so here goes. i have an obd1 h22a in my car...i kept the original a/c compressor and bolted it on w/ the original bracket, which i'm sure is common...i can't find a belt that doesn't squeal like a school girl every time i crank the car...it's getting worse, and is time to go again...what is the part number so i can get a genuine honda oem one???

Had the same problem. If you go to NAPA and get the same length belt with one less rib it'll work fine and stop squealing, just make sure when u put it on that it is lined up straight because your crankshft and alternator pulley's won't be using all of it's groves, this is because the pulley on the a/c has one less grove then the alternator and crankshaft pulley's... Just ran out and looked at the belt and the numbers on it are 25-050435. That should be the part number. Hope it helps.

When you say original a/c compressor, what do you mean - original a/c compressor off the h22 you bought or off the cb7?

Not sure exactly what your setup is but here's mine:

H22 5sp. complete swap w/ Complete Accord Driveshaft
        F22 Crank Pulley
        F22 A/C Compressor/Bracket
        F22 Alternator
        F22 P/S Pump

My OEM Honda Belt (alternator, A/C compressor) I origianally used for my F22 swapped over w/out a prob. The P/S Pump belt was a different story though.

        Anyways here's the numbers -

        Honda P/N: 38920-PT0-004 (Bando)
        Honda P/N: 38920-PT0-0030

BTW, if your belts are squeaking, check the tension. That solved my problem.

Just in case: I found the exact tension specs. for the a/c compressor and alternator belt (section 15 of the serv. manual) as:

          New Belt: 8.5 ~ 11 (mm / 10 kg)
          Used Belt: 10 ~ 12 (mm / 10 kg)

If using an ND tension gauge:

          New Belt: 95 ~ 115 (kg)
          Used Belt: 45 ~ 60 (kg)

                  ???

The alternator and a/c compressor share the same inner belt so I'm not sure what your saying souldoubt.

tehpr3chr: Glad you ordered your belt but your setup w/ mixing CB/BB parts throws me. The whole idea behind me keeping my CB/F22 setup w/ crankshaft was so all my belts/ribs matched (BB = 5 ribs, CB = 4 ribs). Also, from what I understand using a BB Crankshaft Pulley and CB a/c compressor would mean the alignment would be slightly off when the belts are installed/spinning considering the different sizes

But whatever works, I suppose. Although the life of the belt/snagging/shredding if it is at a slight angle would be an issue down the road
