thermostat is newish. it does go up to almost hlafway.

Well... the culprit was most definitely the oil pan.
Installed a brand new genuine oil pan, and the problem is solved
Car sounds a HELL of alot better than ever, and runs smoother and faster as well
I think I'm gonna need a new alternator soonish, though... or maybe just a better ground system.
Thanks for all the help, folks... I definitely wouldn't have know where to look about my problem, and I'm just glad people know what they're talkin about round here
