I just bought a O2 sensor for my 92 accord w/ a 93 JDM h22A in it and the connectors did not match up. I assuming the shop used the accord O2 sensor since the connector from the car had pins in it and this would be a male connector correct? And the O2 sensor I bought also has pins coming out the connector. I wanna keep the o2 sensor I bought so am I gonna need to get a female connector from a prelude and wire it in place of the current one my car? Can someone verify this? Thanks

pins is male, socket is female... think anatomy
anyway yeah you can just swap the plugs (make sure you match the wires up) or you can return it and get the other version - i forget which one is which, but between the accord LX and the accord EX o2 sensors, one has the male connector and one has the female.
i cant tell you which one exactly, because it depends on how the h22 was installed... because sometmies you use the female plug, sometiems the male.

Okay thanks, that was was I thought about the female/male connectors. Just found out some useful info. The 93-96 prelude vtec O2 sensor and 90-93 accord EX sensor use the same exact O2 sensor since the part numbers are identical w/ MALE connectors I found out. The 90-93 accord LXs have a FEMALE connector on their O2 sensors which make them different. To fix my problem I need the female connector from a 93-96 lude vtec or 90-93 accord EX. Thanks Mike.Originally posted by cp[mike]pins is male, socket is female... think anatomy

no problem, but i dont think they make a 92-96 lude vtec o2 sensor with a female connector... the regular f22 ludes might have come with them though idkOriginally posted by 4thGen4drOkay thanks, that was was I thought about the female/male connectors. 4g accords and 4g preludes that have the o2 sensor on the downpipe behind the motor use the same o2 sensor, with the *male* connectors (thanks for the clarification). the reason the LX have the female connector is because they had the o2 sensor on the header at the front of the motor- when you put an h22 in an LX, you need to extend the wiring for the front mounted o2 sensor to reach the back, but that means the same male connector is used... so even though its in the EX location, you need an LX o2 sensor with a female connector on it.
glad you got it figured out, now you know for the future.

What I meant is I need the female connector from the car which would be from a 4G lude vtec or 4G accord EX. But your right I should have gotten the accord LX O2 sensor to make it easier but I didnt bother to check which one I needed first, I just dont wanna pay the restocking fee if I return the Lude one I gotOriginally posted by cp[mike]no problem, but i dont think they make a 92-96 lude vtec o2 sensor with a female connector... the regular f22 ludes might have come with them though idk
