    Automatic to Manual swap problem

OK I read the DIY on how to convert automatic to manual, i got all the parts required, so i began to do the conversion, everything was going according to plan, its untill I began to install motor mounts that I ran into a problem. As I began to finish my instalation, i realized that the tranmissions sits too close to the crossmember that has the rack and pinion mounted to it, and it dos not let me mount the engine properly, therefore not allowing me to install the rear motor mount. i tried shifting the motor in different position, but still it wont sit properly. is there anything i missed that i should know?
P.S. im using the manual trans mounts

dude if your using the existing auto mount without welding, you need to use the 5th gen accord or the 4th gen prelude tranny mounts if you have a h series tranny. if your using the f series tranny you have to reweld.

Well, I ran into the same problem when I did my conversion 5 years ago. There wasn't much info at that time, so don't judge me by what I did. I used the original drivers mount and rear mount (auto stuff), with a 92-96 prelude manual mount with stock auto bracket, and a modified dog bone up front (Cut out about an 1" and then welded it back together). Then I took a cutting torch and cut out about 4" x 1 1/4" from the rear crossmember. Then it all bolted up great haha, man I look back at that and . I actually ran this setup for about two years. All my mounts wore out and distorted themselves, and I started breaking axles about once a week. I then changed everything. New drivers mount, dx/lx rear mount/bracket, 5spd accord tranny mount and 5spd bracket welded to the rail. In the front, I'm currently using a prelude crossmember (92-96) mount and motor bracket, but thats mainly due to reducing engine movement and making room for the turbo. You should be using your stock front crossmember and dog bone mount. (Some people get confused about the prelude front mount/crossmember, so I try to clarify)

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T COPY MY ORIGINAL SETUP!!!

The only right way to do this is to weld the 5spd bracket on the rail and use the 5 spd tranny mount. You can use your auto stuff in back, no problem. Good luck. L8r
