    h22?

i was looking on hmotors and saw an h22 type-s which has 220hp rather than 200, i just wanted to know if it is alot more difficult to swap that motor than any other h22, and what is the difference between that h22 and all others

the type-s motor requires a LOT of work to go into anything except a prelude type-s or type-sh.
the type-s is equipped with the ATTS system, and so far no one has gotten it to work in a car that did not originally havve it. to use a type-s you would need to fabricate a bracket to mount your halfshaft on, and then get a non atts transmission.

you are better getting an SiR S-Spec engine or a base engine.

while he should still know his facts, the Type-SH here in the US had the ATTS system, I dont think theres been any verified reports of the Type-S having it. Im pretty sure it only had an LSD.

erika was running the ATTS system cause i remember way back when her husband was trying to explain it to me. like 2 years ago. maybe she is running the type SH and not the type s. idk tho. does the US type SH have the red valve cover too?

No! but you shouldnt be looking at valve covers to determine which motor it is.. :P

the type-s has atts. it is a fact not a fiction. you can also check honda.co.jp and search for prelude as well, you may need to use some translating software to read the japanese though. my feeling is that if honda said the Type-S has ATTS i tend to believe them.

as far as type-s baby....she may or may not have a type-s ENGINE...but she probably does NOT have a type-s swap, as there is NO LSD system available for an ATTS tranny. moer than likely if she has a type-s engine it then she has a base tranny with lsd and a custom bracket...or she has an SiR S-Spec which is the same engine with the LSD tranny....or she is completely unimformed abotu what she has in her car.

                  my facts are straight now.

that is the page that shows the ATTS system is standard on the Type-S, while the LSD equipped transmission is standard on the SiR S-Spec.

i guess she had the adapter built that allows the base model transmission with LSD to work with the Type-S engine then or she does not have a Type-S but instead has the SiR S-Spec. though a red valve cover is never enough to convince me that an engine is a type-r or type-s

Yes it was a T-type S motor and transmission with atts. But there is something new you will have to wait until the next meet. Its another rare JDM goodie.

In addition I do know what is in my car. All the Type S and Type SH trannys have lsd but the atts corrects it. I own a type sh prelude as well and understand the difference between atts with lsd and non atts lsd.
