Its better to get a new set since over time they stretch. Id just get a new set just in case. You can reuse them but its best to replace them.

I know that you can only reuse the stock head Bolts once but what about the STUDS. Like the ARP studs are they stronger and can be reused more than once?Originally posted by deevergoteStock parts are bolts. Studs are upgrades.
Still, I'd just spend the money for new studs. You don't want to risk that.

Honestly, I don't know for sure.
However, anything that has prolonged tension has got to warp a bit once the tension is released and reapplied. The stock bolts are MADE to stretch, so they're shot after the second use max... using them more than once isn't the best idea, but it can be done. Studs are probably sturdier, but I wouldn't risk it. A set of studs costs what, just over $100? In the case of stud failure, the LEAST amount of damage you're going to do is blow the head gasket... that alone makes the cost of new studs justifiable!

I would definately recommend upgrading from the factory bolts because as it was stated above, they do stretch, not only over time, but each time they are torqued. They are designed to. It'll be easier, and probably cheaper, in the long run just to purchase ARP or something similar to elimate headaches down the road.Honda-Tech Username: Lostcb7

I hear this all the time about using new studs and bolts. We have NEVER used new stuff unless we had to (ie: striped, broken ect.) and we have done many head jobs.
If your worried about them stretching. just torque it down to specks, then put a breaker bar and socket on them and turn it 90 deg. In fact Toyota list doing this in the manual.
Another option is to bump your torque up just a hair. (ie: if specs call for 95lbs use 95.5lbs)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
