    another ecu for f22b?

i did some searching on the site but im not sure i found my answer. im looking for a P39 ecu for my F22B engine which i believe is the best choice. There is also the P14 but it requires the knock sensor to be put in. are there any other ecus that i could run with the engine and have it run fine without any problems. if say i cant find a P39, the P14 are more available and so how hard would it be to put in the knock sensor and wire it up. would this require drilling in the block? please help!

    Thanx
    Pete

i would assume that you could get a chipped P06 to run it, but im not positive.

p14 is the easiest way, since its a readily available USDM ECU. adding a knock sensor isnt hard, there should be a blank plug on the back of the block that you can pull out and put the KS in its place. wiring it is just running a single wire from the sensor to the ECU.

i have a p14 for sale if you want it, and i can throw in a KS connector and an ECU pin. i dont have an actual KS though...

hahaha good one eric - what car does the p06 come from? im guessing all the plugs are the same and will fit fine for either the p14 or p06

either the p14 or p06 will plug right in. the p06 came from the 92-96 civic DX/LX (the EX/SI had vtec and came with the p28).

if you want the p14, make an offer... idk, 75?

You can even use your stock f22a ecu and it should run fine if you use your f22a injectors.

It runs really damn rich and bogs sometimes. Still works for temporary application.

                      cp[mike] - you got PM

concerning the KS. do i buy one for the h23 engine? how much they go for? also, i did some searching but not sure where exactly the sensor needs to be installed. i read something about drilling but its not really clear to me. if someone has a pic of where to put in the sensor that would be very helpful.
                      Thanx

worked fine for me. I also used the f22a fuel rail tho. How can it run richer than if it was an f22a? it should run pretty much the same as the f22a if not better because it should be sucking in more air.

That what I was told by the guy who owned my f22b previous to me. I'm not using an f22a ecu either way, yey for p06.

ok so just to make sure this is what i know:

P39 - no knock sensor - hard to find - plug and play
P14 - requires tapping into the block to put in KS - easy to find/cheap - plug and play
P06 - no knock sensor - not to hard to get - plugs in but needs to be chipped
PT6 - no knock senor - free b/c i have it - plug and play but need to use F22AX injesctors - temporary solution

Please correct me if im wrong anywhere so this can be the last thread for what ecu to use on F22B engine.
