    re-pining help!

damn so now i'm stuck... i have 6 repinned and 2 to go... on the AUTO plug (on the car) there are 2 holes filled and no wires that run to it... BUT... on the 5 speed harness there are 2 plugs that are supposed to run to that hole... as it is i have 11 auto wires and 8 5 speed wires... so i'm looking at a combination of 2 holes up top adn 2 at the bottom on of this plug... but the colors on the car dont' match the colors on the harness...

    so were looking at

    + + -
    + + - +
    + + + +
    + + -

now... the wires on the 5 speed harness (with the auto plug... and the two wires in question)

now... on the 5 speed its just the 8 in the middle

    + + + +
    + + + +

but then that puts 1 plug hooked up to nothing...

and thats what it looks like... the 5 speed plug on the left being mated to the auto plug on the right.. =(

you cant go by wire color... you must go by pin number diagrams...

why didnt you just swap your original harness onto the motor? then it would have all plugged straight in...

i had the same problem as you during a swap, and i considered redoing the pins, until i saw these last 2 plugs... decided it was too different, and swapped out the whole harness. which really isnt very hard while hte motor is in the car.

so let me try to understand you correctly.

you have everything matched up almost, besides one last plug - the car side has an automatic harness, and has the large round plug, but the engine side of the harness has the smaller 8pin 5spd plug, and you cant connect them to each other, so youre swapping the pins out of the 5spd plug into the correct automatic plug.

and your problem is that 2 of the wires that went to the 5spd dont match up with the auto plug?

im just trying to get a clear understanding of your situation, then i can try to help out. we may need to hit up shopkey and get wire colors and pin #s, then use a meter to test the destinations of each wire.
