    Code 23: knock sensor

My h22 is running great except for the fact I threw a CEL 23 which is the knock sensor, I'm running the stock p13 of course. Unfortunatly I'm still running on the 87 oct that was left in the car before I swapped it out, could this cause the CEL 23? I hope to god its the not the $145+ sensor going bad, VTEC kicks in nicely and doesn't bog at all so thats what's making me think it's not the sensor. I kicked in VTEC twice then about 5 sec after VTEC the CEL came on.

Dont go into VTEC with 87 octane...your risking it. Put in some better gas and see what happens. I wouldnt judge the sensor yet.

my motor from hmotorsonline was fine. you can tell if it was swapped out. well maybe i can but put some better gas and see how she runs. i ran on 87 on my first tank after the swap too but i quickly just mixed in 91 just in case.

maybe throw some octane booster or 100 octane to compensate .

You need some higher occtain fuel for your 10.6:1 compression dude. 87 will NOT cut it. please don't kill your dohc.

little update: When I got a closer look at the pin connections with a flash light I noticed the D3 pin was hanging halfway out! I guess I forgot to seat the pin in the connector all the way....I threw some higher octane fuel in her and I'm going to go for a test spin tommorow, wish me luck.

good for the most part, it doesn't throw anymore CELs! I'll make a swap journal soon once everything is good to go.
