    ECU question

Hey guys did a h22 jdm swap, the engine was a 95 however I have one concern.

i had a f22b1 (from a 95 exr accord) and i am using that ecu, and i dont think this can be good. I didnt think about until today, and the engine has been in my accord for about a week and is sunning strong and everything, but should i get a h22 ecu, and if so what year? Thanks A lot Deryk
90 ex-r sedan, charcoal, 95 jdm h22, type S cams, Jun cam gears, Skunk2 valve springs, P28 chipped ecu w/ uberdata, cai, exaust, B&M fpr w/ gauge, mugen lip, 17' IWC wrapped with falken rubber, Bilstein hd, coilvers, black Leather, red/clear tails, Autometer gauges. More to come

Just get an OBD1 ECU. Year doesn't matter.

ok but is the ecu i am running causing harm, cause if it makes no difference, then i wont, but i dont want to hurt anything

Since the ecu is for a f22, its using a different fuel map. I'd suggest getting an H22 ecu, it'll run even better. Did the ecu not come with your swap?

        mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... DOHC

no because i just got the long block 95 jdm h22, and used my f22 tranny (longer gears), does anyone have an ecu on the board for sale, or know what they sell for.

But is this Ecu hurting anything?

And how can u tell if the ecu is obd1 (does it say right on it)

i see that there is p13, p14, p28, what is ideal, difference thanks A lot deryk

You want a P13. You can get a chipped P28 (don't run it "stock). You don't want to run with a F series ECU.

ok but i plan on running the h22 with these mods

              CAI
              full exhaust
              cams
              cam gears
              valve springs
              maybe an intake manifold

              should i go for a P28?

              whats the price usually

              are all p13 obd1

sorry for the questions....i dont want to get something wrong

Get a P28 if you want to chip it or use a Hondata. Otherwise, get a P13.

                  Thanks

the reason that they used my 95 exr ecu is because i am using an f22 tranny, and they didnt think if could handle it or something.
i wanted to get one of those Vafc or whatever, BUT

they said keep this ecu and get a hondata and it should be fine

is that most likely the best bet????

The ecu you use is directly related to the engine you have, not your tranny. So, you're supposed to have a p13 (stock h22 ecu) or like nutbucket said, get a chipped p28.
By the way is your car auto or manual?

auto.....so i should just get the p13 ecu......what about the hondata???

are all p13 or p28 ecus the same.....is there some that wont work with my car (i know i need an auto one)

                      Whats the best option

                      f22 ecu with hondata
                      OR
                      p13 ecu

unless youre going to have the butterflies open all the time i would get a p72 cause it has iab control(unless the p28 can be chipped to control it too). and just curious, it seems like you kept your f22 tranny on purpose... do you plan on running boost? cause for acceleration that tranny sucks.

no boost....all NA, working on internals.

need to know some concrete answers for this ecu question

You wont be able to use hondata on auto ecu's, somebody correct me if they know any different. But I've been researching on their website, b/c I wanted to do the samething, but their s100 and s200 for the H22's are only for manual ecu's. I havent found a chip for an auto ecu yet

my tuning place said stick with this ecu, and get the hondata, and it should be perfect....they said the hondata will make everything run the way it should, plus tuning power....but my car is auto and i am using a sohc vtec ecu....i guess ill talk to them tomorrow and get things striaght....i hate things that dont have a straight answer haha
