    5-speed swap problem....info needed

Ok so I'm well on my way to getting this swap finished. I'm just about to pull the auto tranny and I was unhooking everything and noticed lines running from the bottom of the radiator to the top of the transmission. When I was pulling the manual tranny I didn't notice these lines, so I checked it out and sure enough they're not there. Now I didn't spend too much time comparing the two trannies, so if there is an easy fix I'm gonna feel like an idiot. But what do I do? Is there some plugs that need to be removed from the manual or doesn't a manual tranny need to be cooled? I figured it does but I'm lost. Any help would be great. Thanks so much!

Its probably lines to the radiator for the trans cooler. Manual trans did not have em. Just pull it off.

Yeah I know that they're cooler lines. What I wanted to know is what should I do with them? Pull them off at what point? I unhooked them and they were just leaking and leaking so I hooked them back up for now. But if I unhook them won't they leak all over when the car is running? Or should I plug them? I thought about trying to buy plugs for the radiator and just removing the lines where they come out of the radiator at the bottom.

Unhook the lines at the radiator and let whatever excess fluid is in the cooler leak out...or just plug the nipples on the radiator after you pull the lines off. You don't need those lines on the 5-spd, it's only for the ATF cooler that's built into the radiator.

Ok so what you're saying is once the chamber in the radiator is empty, those holes that are open won't matter bc there isn't any fluid in them. Thanks alot man!

correct, thats a separate section of the radiator. 5spd trannies are so much simpler to work on

When I did my swap I left them open and there was a red film that kept appearing in the engine bay and the back of the car, it went on for weeks, so I finaly just took one of the hoses that came off, and looped the two connections on the radiator. You can cap them as well, but you already have the line, so you wouldn't have to buy anything. L8r
