VTEC head on non VTEC block?

I got a question on my 91 EX. i may have cracked the head and was wondering what VTEC head i could put on and what parts i would need. also would this be worth it, what kind of power increases should i look for, any problems with this. any help would be greatly appreciated.

alot of custom work? bleh.. its not as expensive as ur making it sound

          h23 timing belt and components
          f23 head gasket
two plugs to block oil in the head
a few other misc things but nothing EXPENSIVE yeh an h22a head isnt cheap but for those who want the flow of the h22a head and boost without FRM sleeves the hybrid is the way to go..
we talked about this remember?? look for it on here i talked about someone from H-T.com doing the head swap
          iron sleeves+h22a+turbo setup=oh so fine

well belive it or not there is not much modification that needs to be done to the engine it self,

when i did mine i had to swap everything from a h22 block to the bare f22 block i hade, ut with you , you don't need to swap anything out, just leave the engine in the car but pull the head off,

the only custom things you will have to worry about is the head gasket porting which is easy if you have a dremel, then getting the 2 plugs made for the oil ports on the h22 head and change the pully on your water pump

yeh i agree with u.. "YET" hes the first one to do this to my knowlegde.. and hell weither itll be reliable or not i mean.. he got the block for 100.. that was his goal.. if he blew the block under high boost it was a cheap F block not a more expensive H22A block.. and secondly he wanted to prove people wrong.. how much power will it make and how reliable is up to the dyno/time.. but i totally agree.. then again.. u dont need to rev to 8k to make use of the h22a head
7kish is all he plans on pushing with this setup IMO thats fine along with boost

not to say it wil lbe for anyone else i mean buying an h22a head inst exactly cheap.. but then again.. the hybrid does have its good and bad.. time will tell fizzy.. time will tell

also money wise bleh.. whats an F block worth now a days incase something goes into the shitter? ponder on that fizzy

Jeez... The only yards around here that are open to the public are for 93 and older vehicles, and there are NEVER 4G Preludes... The H23 Head swap sounds like a good idea, as you could use the same intake and exhaust manifolds, and just bolt it in...
