    b18 integra ecu

hey guys. my friend is wanting to swap a obd1 non vtec b18 out of a 91 integra into his 97 civic. he has access to the whole integra(engine, harness, ecu, ect. it was wrecked). what all does he need to do it with??? will the integra ecu work???

If he has access to everything why wont he use the ECU that came with the Teg motor on it??? Kinda common sense isnt it? Unless he feels like doing an obd2 conversion then yea its gonna take some work. If he wants to stay obd2 hes better off selling that motor and getting something else.

Yea he can but he has an obd2 car. Theres your one problem unless you can somehow bypass emissions.

Same idea as your Civic with the B16.

so the only problem is emissions. well good. we dont have emmisions tests here. what all would he have to do in order to swap everything??? oh and i almost put it there but i figured i would get a better response here. thanks.

Harness, ECU, Motor, Trans but doubt you want to use LS trans since its long ass geard, And dunno what your gonna have to do about mounts. Dont think it is a direct drop in but bleh you never know.

What is wrong with the LS tranny? I prefer to be in lower RPMs at higher speeds. Its not that bad.

so just take out the civics ecu and harness and just replace it with the
                    b18 stuff, no splicing?

sorry for posting so late... the ecu will not fit because the car is an obd2 and your ecu is a obd1. unless if you can find like a piggy back or a jumper from obd2 to obd1, then you can use the ecu. the speed sensor from the 91 ls is cable i believe and your 97 civic is not. the distr. connectors are also different but with some easy research on the colors of the wires and some cutting and splicing will take care of the distr. another thing is that the 91 teg is a cable trans and the 97 civic is hydro. but you can call hasport for those conversion kits. my advice, take that motor out and sell it or don't do it at all. do not open up a can of worms unless if you're willng to eat it. good luck bro. hopefully i answered some of your questions.

From a DD standpoint that is true. But if he plans to track the car not really the best trans. My buddies LS teggy running B16 trans is lovely. Utilizes the tq a lot better.
