    h22a4 type sh (5 speed)

i have a 90 accord auto lx. my homie is gonna buy a type s motor and put it in his 98prelude type sh. now my question is, with the type sh motor onto my trans (auto), will it work? and i know that i have to use the h22 auto trans ecu, but can i still use my tcu?? and the sh motor has the oil filter on the side instead of behind the block, will that motor still work for my vehicle?? i know these are stupid questions and if you do not have anything nice to say, please respect my thread. thank you all for reading this and i aprreciate all of your responses.

    1. Obd2-1 Conversion
    2. Use a prelude TCU your TCU isnt gonna shift right. Fine one from an older prelude.
    3. Should work the ATTS trans in the SH takes up a lot of room and weighs like 50 extra lbs.

AFAIK, The ATTS tranny is a PITA to put into a CB7.

From what I read he keeping the Stock accord auto. So he shouldnt have to worry about the ATTS part. Shouldnt be a problem with the filter. If all else fails you can buy a relocation kit. As for the TCU 92-96 SI VTEC.

thank you. it will be a few month project. when i do get the h22, i'm gonna send the head out get it ported, match port the intake and exhaust sides, bored out t body, match port intake manifold, try to chip the auto ecu, and cams. can't wait. i will for sure let you guys know when this build is done. in the future, within a year or so, i'm looking into ITB'S. i figure about 5-6g's for itb's, tuned. it may cost more though. still have to do my research. Signal Auto in Torrance is gonna be my resource for the ITB'S.

If your going to be doing all that I recommend investing in a manual conversion to get the most out of it.

you're right. however, I want to keep my automatic and have a reputation of an automatic turning a good et time at the tracks.

If you keep your F22 trans, or source a normal H22 trans, it will be fine. The H22A4 is pretty much the same as the H22A1, other than the OBD2 aspect. Convert it to OBD1, and it'll be just like any other H22 swap. The motor itself isn't really different. The ATTS stuff is all in the transmission.

And definitely get an automatic 92-95 H22 TCU.
