    JDM H22A - 87, 91, or 93 octane?

To see what other people have to say (since I seem to be having a disagreement on this with someone) I'm wondering what is best for the JDM H22A. I personally run 93. It's more expensive, but with the higher 10.6 compresion, I feel safer.

I've been told that 87 is fine, and I think I know of a couple people who use it, but I'm not too keen on the idea. Any other H22A-ers have some input?

i usually get 91. some places (every station ive been to in NJ...) dont carry 91, only 87, 89, and 93... in that case i get the 93.

Unfortunately with gas prices the way they are, getting higher octane gas for our cars is very low on the priority list. It's just too damn expensive

Is it only 87, 89, and 93? I thought 91 for some reason!
That's right... 91 is premium for California, I believe... that's where I got it.

cb7deathride, what H22 do you have? The standrd JDM H22 is only 10.6, isn't it? And the Type S is 11:0? Have you done anything to it to get 11:1?

I'd rather pay an extra couple bucks to keep my engine from blowing up, though... it would take a lot of gas to equal the cost of a new engine!

My bad, it is 10.6. I got confused.

90 is at about 1.99 here in Nebraska. That's only because the state is a massive cornfield, and corn is used to make Ethanol.

I'm on a Card Lock system, and they don't even OFFER 93... So I retard my timing a little... And I plan on modding the fuel tables in my P07 ECU too... But yeah, even with my wierd-ass setup, I have to have premium, or I ping under load...

Run 91 or 93. I always run 93. I did run it on 87 once and it was stupid fast but it would detonate like it was going out of style. So 93 is all I run.
