      and how is it cheaper???

      from my quick 5min searching

found an h22a bare head on AT.com for 250

      h22a head-250
      f22a block- teh free
      brand new timing componets -40
2 plugs need to be made which a machine shop can make for you
and the block decked due to such a low compression from the hybrid.. or swap pistons to raise it..

regardless i doubt youd spend 2,000 on this...
a grand maybe if you were anal and replaced alot of pieces.
i dont necessaraly agree that the H is the best combo.. its a good platform but not the best there is out there..

and if he was anal and wanted a full h22a/f22a hybrid

      h22a rods/crank
      f22a pistons

full h22a internals shoved in a f22a with iron sleeves

      that is all

ive directed ppl so many times to the H-T thread on f22a/h22a hybrid diy.. its scary..

first off.. ud have to be a dumbass to assume u can rev to h22a rev limits with this hybrid.. thats a given....prelittlelude has been going to maybe 7k.. or less and hasnt had any problem.. what he lost in top end he gained in midrange..the car has alot more midrange torque.. the butt dyno is feeling it lovely

secondly this is a boost motor.. f22a blocks are dime a dozen.. thats the point of this hybrid.. boost the fuck out of it.. and if it goes it goes.. just pray the head doesnt go with it..

good example is deevergote with my 3g.. a20a motors are 50-100 buxs.. the block can hold 15psi easily.. if he blows it so what.. another 50 bucks and theres another block ..

that was the point of the hybrid.. not to say hey i have an h22a for cheap... if someone thinks that they have issues this board cant fix..

like i said.. if someone did want to rev to 7.500-800.. simple.. h22a crank/rods.. which are made to handle it.. with the plus of irons leeves..

i plan on doing this sometime this summer.. not to be a rev monster.. but to handle boost lovely.. 6,500 is more than enough to make good power.. and for the price of the hybrid.. i honestly dont think its a bad route for someone who plans on turbocharging

im not saying ur biased.. but u praise it as if its the only route..bleh.. time will tell how well his hybrid holds up to 12lbs which he plans to push daily.. on EMS..

H22 = in stock form or close to = good all-motor high revvin power

But I'd have to agree with Wikked...turbo is what would make them hybrids worthwhile....if they trying all-motor....I'd have to say going the H22 route is better.

I skimmed through a lot of that, so excuse me if I'm off a little...

Mike, take the F22 internals and put em in the H22 (crank, rods, pistons). Use the H22 block and head, but the F22 internals. I'm not sure exactly what hp you'll get, or what compression, but I know it'll make a 2.3L VTEC engine. I'm dying to know someone who has done this!

                wtf would u do that?????
i mean ur still stuch with the FRM sleeves... so what was the point...?? i mean.. 2.3L vtec or not.. ur still stuck with FRM sleeves lol..
u keep saying f22a internals but like.. then u say h22a pistons.. so what h22a intenals?? are u talking about the sleeves or some shit??? eh .. confused..

Where did I say H22 pistons? Supposedly, if you put the F22 crank, rods, and pistons into the H22, you're left with a 2.3L engine with no machining work (and no H23 block swap). It seems like the best way to increase displacement. I know it's possible, but I've never seen it done.

but you lose all the high compression that makes the h22 powerful

i was driving along today and the check engine light came on.
i pulled over and looked under the hood.
                    the engine was still there...
                    ...silly light!

i found some one to rebuild the block to get the compression back up so im not gonna go through this hybird swap just a simple h22 with h23 trans

i got this IM from deever

Deevergote: wtf would u do that?????
i mean ur still stuch with the FRM sleeves... so what was the point...?? i mean.. 2.3L vtec or not.. ur still stuck with FRM sleeves lol..

                            Deevergote: que?

                            some clarification

i meant..h22a internals in a f22a block.. is what the hybrid is all about..
u can put the h22a rods and the crank in an f22a block and use f22a pistons..thats do-able.. there is no real point in putting f22a pistons in an h22a block.. i believe the forged pistons which i think the f22a's are would scortch and scratch up the sleeves right??? i remember hearing u have to resleeve to get forged pistons in an h22a due to the sleeve compound..

so .. like i said the hybrid is

                            simple version
                            f22a block
                            h22a head..

                            or
                            more h22a like version
                            f22a block
                            h22a head
                            h22a rods
                            h22a crank
                            f22a pistons

                              OR...
Do what I said, and have no issues with swapping heads... Put the F22 parts in the H22... H22 head, H22 block, F22 internals.
