Most times you can play with the idle screw on the TB… It helps some people and for others no help at all…. I know it helped me on my h22…

How's your throttle stop screw, throttle cable deflection?

Even with a leaky gasket and a small vacuum leak, my idle has only gone up to about 2000 and 1200 in gear.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere to me. Check on the manifold

i heard spraying starter fluid on the manny can help you find the leak.....has anyone tried it?

I never had any luck with that method, but it couldn't hurt

usally if you idle that high, you usally have a major vaccum leak. cheak all your intake manifold gaskets

Yea it works. Water works too but its a little less noticeable. Glad to hear you found the problem though.

OK...i thought i got it. it's wierd......i had forgot to plug the TPS back in. the car drove fine, but i got a cel code 7. the idle was high (2000rpm), but steady. i looked up the code, and found out the the tps wasn't pluged in.......plug it back in, and the idle got pichy again. only this time it's between 1000-2000 rpm

You didnt play with the adjustment on it right? Replace any gaskets around that area lately?
