    obd conversion f20b

I'm sure this has been covered but i am in a rush to figure out which motor i should order on friday.

If i swap in a f20b in my 92 accord, what should i do about my wiring harness. Should i use my stock harness and get a p28 with a base map for the f20 that will eliminate my obd2 components or should i go with a harness adapter and run wires for all the sensors and such that are going to be changed. I am really in the dark on this but i really want to run a f20b. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

well, this is what I have in the garage. f20b, h22 obd1 intake manifold and injectors, obd 2 knock sensor and harness, and my obd1 p13 is on it's way.

Yeah but i actually want to run the obd2 f20b ecu.

Are you running a p28 chipped with f20b knock sensor?

it's not in my car yet. I'm still waiting for pistons from this shop in san diego. I am gonna run a p13 auto ecu and a p19 tcu. yes I am gonna use the f20b knock sensor. it's different from the obd 1 connector. you can go and buy the sub harness from Honda off of the 2002 honda odyssey. it's around 20 bucks I think, and just cut the end off and wire it to the ecu like you normally would. I'm not sure about the ecu part though. call hasport and see if they can help you out.

Why not just swap the knock sensor it is relatively easy and cheap. The P13 isn't going to give you full potential out of the f20. the f20 has a longer rpm range. It revs to almost 9k and the h22 only goes to 8200 so you will be missing out on the best of the party.

I actually want to put the obd2 f20 ecu in my lude and and rewire the dizzy and such and then run wires for the crank sensor and whatever else.

Very true.. The f20b maps are way different then the p13 ones. It will take some patience and of course time, but in the end you should run the ecu which is made for that motor.. Honda knows whats up their ECU's.. Thats why My buddy wired up the 2000 spec euro r ecu for my euro R motor and it runs like a champ..
on a side not a Prime Example for this topic: My friends installed 2 f20b's into a customers car.. The first one he spun a bearing, a month later he broke a ring line from over rev'ng the motor.. his p13 with a 50 dollar ebay chip just aint cutting it, because the timing and fuel maps are either making it run too lean and not limiting how high he revs it..

That is exactly what i'm saying. How did he wire up the f20b ecu? Did he use the obd1-obd2 conversion harness? or did he just splice all the wires? I'm not a huge fan of cutting and splicing because it leaves too much room for error, and me being a person who does almost everything on my own I don't like to leave much room at all for error.

So saying that i decided to use obd1-obd2 conversion harness, Do i just buy one for honda or what? Then do i just add in the wires for the crank sensor, knock sensor, and wire up the obd2 f20b dizzy or can i just plug in a h22 dizzy? Will the h22 dizzy work with the f20b ecu? Also what is the right ecu for the f20b?

1st im running a PDE Ecu which is for the 2000 spec Euro R motor not for the f20b.
First he had a custom conversion harness made which he sells for $175.00 and then he added the wires to it.. Its complicated from there. I am using a obd1 prelude distributor, itr throttle body, obd2 egr valve, etc etc.. pm me if you want his information.
