Code 10 CEL

Ive had an issue with my car for awhile now. I've eliminated all but one CEL. code 10. im pretty sure. it flashes once for about a second. nothing for about 3 sec and repeats. ive tried switching the sensor with a brand new one. that didnt help the problem.... this is a copy of a post i put in the socal mechanics thread so dont complain about a double post. i need to get this fixed.


ive been checking voltage and resistance on the iat sensor, the wires by the sensor and at the ecu.

Ive also been using shopkey for information.

The sensor reads as it should 2.1ohm. should be 1-4ohm.

The positive red/yellow wire reads 4.9v. should be around 5v

The negative green/white is reading 4.9v at the ECU. it should be around 5v also.

bad ECU? im about to cut the wire at the ECU and sensor and run my own wire to test it.

Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys, you always tell me something that points me in the right direction.




I ran brand new wires from the sensor to the ecu... still the exact same results, code 10.

have you tried testing the o2 sensor...... seems like it may be flashing a 1 and not a 10

i put in a brand new iat last week.

i thought the same thing so i put in a brand new o2 sensor yesterday, i had put a new one in about 6 months before that had thrown code 1 & code 43.

replacing the o2 sensor fixed that.

its going into a shop my mom used to take it to when it was my sisters. i hate knowing someone elses hands are going to touch my car. but whatever, if they clear the light so i can pass smog i will be very happy.... plus my parents are paying the bill so whatever.
