    A/C Delete...

I looked around for the a/c delete diy but I couldn't find it. My question is when I got the car I got it with some wires that were unhooked and so on...I was wondering now that I took all of my a/c out, what electrical connections can I take out? Also witch wiring can I take out for the Cruise control?

You can't just "take it out" its in the main harnesses.

unplugging and getting rid of are two very different things. Im crazy so i cut my harness before i put it back in the car and removed all the wiring for P/S, A/C, Cruise and anything else i dont have in the car anymore.

So.... if you unplug it and take the A/C components out will it cause a problem?

Well AC just has that main plug to cycle the fans and the compressor plug as I recall. Really not that much. If you take out all the tubing, condensor, compressor/bracket and so on wont cause anything you just wont have AC. You can always use your blower motor and blow hot air during the summer.

Well my A/C is busted and I've never had a car with functional A/C, so it's not something I really care about and I definitely don't care enough to fix it... So I might as well take out the extra weight and free up some room in the engine compartment.

actually by removing all the ac hard lines, compressor, bracket your saving damn near 85 pounds. taking the a/c out there are only two plugs might as well leave them alone just tuck them into ur headlight and tie up the bottom ones to somthing so u cant see them dangling from the front of ur car. and for the C/S that comes right out i plug then unhook the cable connected to ur gas pedal.

are u talking about the Cruise Control?

it not just the Cruise control box...you have the actuator to take out as well.

IF you're talking about the Cruise control.

I got rid of my AC for weight savings. I know the condenser weighs 8lbs 3oz. I didn't weigh the compressor before I threw it away, but my guess it is around 20-25lbs. The lines do not weigh much at all. Even though the weight saved wasn't anything dramatic, I am happy with it. Parts to remove are: the compressor, the lines going to it, and the bracket, small wiring harness near P/S reservoir, condenser and lines going to it, evaporator (if you feel like removing your dashboard), and finally the A/C button lol
Sorry but it is nowhere near 85lbs

well in the weight reduction thread on here it says with all the lines and everything out its near 85 pounds unless thats wrong? i just going by that havent weighed the parts myself. buy maybe it sounds like it would be worth it.

Evaporator does not equate to removing the dashboard. You just take off the glove compartment.
