    braking problem

I was riding in stop and go traffic today when i realized that if I started to inch up, every time I went to go press the brake again, the pedal would sink a little further back. At one point the pedal was almost to the floor.

The pedal got there as a result of not releasing the brake all the way while creeping forward(creeping then stopping completely). I noticed that if I let off the brake completely, the position of the pedal would reset itself.

    any ideas?

its probably your brake master cylinder starting to go....check your brake fluid level...u could try bleeding the brakes also.

mine did the same thing ... change the master cylinder and all the fluid in the whole system and that should solve your problem ...

In Need of an engine, just a basic f22a...pm me if you have one willing to part with.

          sounds like a plan...
          is this an extensive job?
how much would all of this cost?

If you do it yourself it depends on how much you can get a master cylinder for. Less than 200. If a shop does it for you the parts price plus 80 bucks an hour. It isn't that hard you just have to bench bleed the master cylinder and bleed the brake lines from Right Rear, Left Rear, Right Front, Left Front.
