    Emissions Help!!!

    Okay I just got my car inspected and of course it failed. Everything passed except for 2 things. The Readings were:

    //////////////////25mph Test/////////////////15mph Test////////////////
    -----------Reading----Allowable-----Reading----Allowable----Result
    CO - %______1.53______0.73_______1.35______0.76______FA ILED
    NO - ppm____1401______0945_______1377_____1045______FAI LED

    The guy said to change my O2 sensor first, does that sound about right?
    Plus I got 2 CEL's TPS and EGR. I cleaned the EGR valve out with carb cleaner and a little WD40. And I SEAFOAMED and drove it til it was really warm it before I took it to get tested. ANY ONE WHO CAN HELP PLEASE POST!!!! Advice from someone who knows about emissions for this is Apprecited before I go spend money on something I dont need.

    Thanks

    UPDATE!!!

    I did the DIY on EGR Port cleaning and this was the Result

    //////////////////25mph Test//////////////////15mph Test////////////////
    -----------Reading----Allowable----Reading-----Allowable----Result
    CO - %______0.12______0.73_______0.59______0.76______PA SSED
    NO - ppm_____063______0945_______0163_____1045______PAS SED

    HUGE DIFFERENCE. So Thanks for everything, now Im happy that I can keep my CB on the road

    Often times, high NOx like that can be fixed with a new catalytic converter. I don't think that a new O2 sensor will affect it any, unless you have a CEL for it.

    My two cents, anyways.

            Did you do the usual tune up? Spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor/air filter? You might throw fuel filter in too.

            The only reason you don't pass smog checks is if you are 1. not burning everything possible or 2. the cat is bad. That is it. So, most of the time it is the cat, cause your engine will have to be sucking rather badly for it to not burn the mixture.

            When was the cat replaced? I know you said fairly recently, but when?

                Another guy pm'ed me the same thing. But he said something about having to drill them out, clean it with the carb cleaner and getting new port caps or whatnot. How many ports are there? I dont know if Im up for that. I love working on my car but this is something I dont wanna F--- up. Good lookin' Brian, hit me up on some info about these ports .

                    If it was a cheap cat, 2 years might be it's lifespan.

                            same values for both 15mph and 25mph leads me to believe it is the cat. automatic or manual?

                            mine's a manual and they are in two different gears so my rpm's change. i failed NOx because of my egr ports and the values were something like 1400 and 600.
                            the egr is engaged at different powerbands when power is not needed. (not above 2500rpms)
                            I <3 G60.

                            0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

                              was auto, but I did a manual swap a 3 years ago and my EGR CEL was on when it got tested. I took it off and cleaned it again and reset the ecu. now the EGR CEL is gone and its just the TPS CEL on. So Im gonna order the egr port plugs and clean them out. Im gonna try to get it tested again on thursday and see how that turns out, if it doesnt pass, then I will go ahead and get a new cat and get the muffler I always wanted.

                              The guy said change the O2 sensor but I dont think that has anything to do with it.
