    Distributor mount just broke :(.

I guess I could run on 2 mounts, but the mount facing the front of the motor decided to crack the up and down way along the screws that holds in the cam guides(i think), the mount now is bent towards the distro. Im guessin their is no remedy, and I should just go ahead and call the accord dead. Im running a JDM h22a btw.

its one of the cam caps. you could hit up a dealer and see if they could get it for you.

my only concern is that as i understand it, when a head is assembled, its matching cam caps are installed and they are line bored together with the head. so just by swapping a new one on, it may not be bored perfectly round to match your head, and the clearance difference could cause wear/oil problems.

the same cap is actually broken on my head as well. the majority of the cap is still there holding the cam down, only the tab that sticks off the front that the distributor moutns to is broken off.

in an attempt to remedy this, i attempted using an extra full set of caps from a different head on my good head... when torqued down, the cams were clamped tight and would NOT turn whatsoever. even after loosening every bolt by a few threads, there was still friction. so i went back to the matching set (still broken) and its been running perfectly with no problems.

so im not quite sure what to tell you as far as replacing just the one cap. perhaps you might want to talk to a machine shop and see what they recommend, and see if they could somehow bore match a new cap to match the old one???

sorry man, not a fun piece to have broken :\

I think I got a head lined up that I can jack the cam caps from. Sucks to be without a car, especially seeing as this is my DD...
