    Head Gasket replacement

Ok guys, as some of you know i blew my head gasket Feb. 23rd. I need a ride, so im just going to replace the head gasket and just drive the damn thing. Im going to do a swap sometime in the future. Well...the thing is, one of my friends told me that there is a bracket on the back of the Intake Mani. holding it to the firewall.

Is this true?...i havent really paid that much attention to it. I know i need to get the head checked and see if its uneven and all. Also...how much should i expect to pay for an H23?....

yes there is. i have one on my f22a1 and when i changed my HG i didnt realize it was there so the head/mani would not budge. it was the last bolt before taking off my head. lol

No theres not.. Its between the intake manifold and the block or head cant remember. Reach under the intake manifold.. Or look up from under .. Its awkward.

im just going to take the head and intake mani off together do i don't kill myself trying to take the mani off separate but if someone could tell me exactly where it is...then that would be helpful.

oh sorry i didnt even see where it said "to the firewall". yes he is right it is the block.

my bad for the incorrect response.

i got mine off from under. just use a long extension and i think its a 12mm socket.

i cant really get under my car right now....its low and i really dont want to be covered in oil from my head(valve cover and rocker assem. is out)...

is there actually a way to get it off from above?

you would spend more time trying to get it off from above then just jacking up the car and getting it that way..
