    Srtipped Thread on Head

I was doing my lower tube seals and I screwed up.

I stripped two threads in the head:

I have no excuses, I messed up plain and simple.

Can this be re-threaded or should I just swap my other Accord Head on instead?

    (It's a 91ex head, I have a 92 lx, that's no problem swapping correct?)

(On a side note I was planning on doing some work to the head: cam re-grind, mill the head and p&p.... I was thinking more like 3 months from now...)

    Any advice would be appreciated!

get 2 new bolts, then re-tap the hole. that works most of the time.

if that doesn't work, try hexi coil. later.

Okay... thanks. Starting to calm down.

I will give that a shot!

I believe it's Helicoil, if it comes down to that. You might be able to just use a thread cutter and chase the threads. It might clean them up enough for you to get it down.

          Thanks for the help

I ended up re-tapping the threads and that saved the day.
