    Windshield Wipers Acting Up

my wipers are beginning to act up. this all started after i completed installation of my reverse indiglo gauges, which i don't understand. when i turn them to interval, they do nothing but when i turn them on to low or high they work properly. has anyone else had this problem? anyone have any ideas? any help would be great. thanks

any ideas as to where the wiring problem would be, is it possibly something under the dash in the mess of wires by the steering column?

what do i need to look for under there? it does not require me to remove the dash trim does it?

i just noticed that i also am unable to use my rear defroster, the selected gear light goes out when i turn my lights on, and i have no interior lights now. is it possible that all of these problems that i am having are linked to the same thing? thanks for the help so far fizzbob.

it's a FUSE. that's right. the small lights fuse under the hood on the passenger side.

yup, mine blew and my interior lights didn't work, the wipers wouldn't work at interval etc. so yeah...i'm 99.9% sure it's that fuse. but the fact that the fuse blew might mean that you have a short somewhere. i don't know. check and replace that fuse and see if it blows again.

MRF582 thanks for the hint of the fuse. i went and checked the fuses under the hood, it was not the small lights fuse but rather the interior lights fuse that caused the problems. i replaced it and it fixed the intermittent wipers, the rear defroster, the shift selection lights, and of course the interior lights.

Yeah i had the same problem hooking up my stereo in my car, usually when you do something with wiring (guages, stereos, etc) and something stops working, especially when a few things stop working, its always a fuse, i belive that is the 15 fuse, its blue, Same fuse went out on me, $1.50 at a dealership, .20 cents at wal-mart

Thanks for posting this White92!! It was the exact same problem as I have with my daughter’s car. Unfortunately I don't have the time with the car since we passed it down to her and this thread helped me a lot.
