    AC not cold.

well the weather is getting hotter and on my dads 91 his ac isnt cold.

so i got it recharged with r12 and it got cooler but still isnt cold. had to replace the line that goes to the firewall cause it coroaded. according to the guages on his ac recharger it seems like the compressor is working right...

its just not that cold, and it has about 2.5lb of freon in it and after a leak test found no leaks.

the fans are working right....the car will get cold in like 30 minutes of freeway driving but its just not cooling the car down.

    anyone ehave ideas?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

Too much freon. You're supposed to have 28-30oz. Or just under 2 pounds. If you overcharge it, you reduce the efficiency. Also, try cleaning out the condensor of any leaves and grime, and make sure he is a running a heatshield, if he has the stock header.

,my bad i forgot, he didnt want to put more than 2 pounds. there is just a little less than that in there.

he did vacumn the system before he put in the new stuff....and the condenser is cleared.

he was thinking maybe the expansion valve under the dash but im not sure.
