continued ticking, even after adjusting valves

i adjusted my valves over a month ago, and the ticking STILL persists. actually, it sounds like it may have got worse then before. it sounds like a straight up diesel. i know the valves are adjusted to spec, i even quadruple checked when i was doing it. i'm starting to think it might be a knock..

anyone have any ideas? i can try to make a video of it to let you guys see how it runs

u will know if its a knock.....

    got oil in there?

did u adjust it and the feeler guage had very little drag?
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

The tolerances might be off. you should try readjusting them.

yes, there's oil in there. i check my levels at least once a week to make sure i'm not losing anything.

and yes again. as i said before i quadruple checked the clearance and had the same slight drag on each valve.

Just for confirmation what size feeler gauges did you use? Did you set each cylinder TDC and go in the proper order? If the valves are ticking louder and sounding like a diesel especially after a month then something went fubar somewhere. Its normal for the valves to tick a little louder after a valve lash for a couple of days then quiet down when they wear into the new setting. you should try adjusting them again.

that was my 2nd time adjusting in 2 months. the first time i did it and let it run for a month and it was louder, so i went back to adjust another time. and low and behold, it's still as loud a month later. i followed the DIY when adjusting, so i know i used the proper feeler gauges and set TDC at the proper times.

in fact, the 'wear-in' was probably quieter then it is now...

oh, i thought you meant tolerances of something other then the valves. i adjusted them with angled feeler gauges
