    engine not holding idle

    aight, little background info

this is a f23a1 in a 6th gen accord. the reason why im here and not on one of my sites is because they would tell me to let a shop do this and im stupid for doing a diy, blah blah blah

i did an auto to h23 manual swap, h23 im swap and in the process of an obd-1 swap

the issue i have now is it takes a few seconds of cranking until the car tries to start up. i give it some gas and it starts up and holds an idle below 1k rpm for abt 10 seconds an then either tries to go past 1.5 rpms and dies or just dies at 1k rpms. the engines shakes violently under this idle and, to me, it sound like only 1 cyl is workin.

when i first started it up, it held idle fine until i gave it gas, then it died.

CELs are auto tranny(gone), secondary o2 sensor(disconnected now, but shouldnt affect anything) and vtec malfunction. none of these things affect.

im fairly certain its something electrical, but iono what. my tps is not set correctly, but tht shouldnt affect the startup. i also heard when swappin IMs, on ur cars, tht you have to ground out the ecu, but i couldnt find anything abt tht.

anyone wanna throw out any ideas?

Maybe explain what you did in more detail and why did you convert to OBD1 if your car is a 6th gen your computer is OBD2.

lets see if i can give some more details

took off my old f23 IM for a h23 im, hooked up the map sensor, tps, and all sensor on the h23 im. used my old f23 injectors with a h23 fuel rail. im 95% sure i can run the old auto ecu fine, it will just be in obd-ii limp mode which just means i have no power past 4k rpms.

i rechecked all my sensors, they are normal. i get spark, i get fuel, timing is correct. but iono why its not all clicking together

Try getting the tps hooked up and calibrated right. Also you'll need the o2 sensor hooked up to run optimally.

Start by eliminating what is wrong or not done then you'll better be able to figure out what the real issues are.

tried a few different things and no luck

now, i always thought tht a bad vtec would cause a retard in timing on the top end, but could it be tht my ecu is retarding the timing at startup and not causing the car to start?
