yeah for realz, I just went to the grocery store to pick up some cheez-its and soda, and the dam thing was already above the C before the end of my block! I mean, I guess its maybe b/c my compression went from 90 to 180psi

Is it really hotter than it was before, or does your mind just think it is, because you decided to look now?

I can't comment on the fans not turning off, as when I turn my car off the fans turn off also.
haha true, i never really felt it before, but my strut bar I had on there before got pretty hot. I guess i'm kinda disappointed that it still feels "hot" to the touch.

And weird thing now is....the fans aren't coming on after I went to the store and back....so idk, maybe the ECU took some time to learn that it has a new cyl. head on the engine now, lol. But its still about 90 degrees out at almost 1am, YUCK!

Was reading along the posts, seems like you figured things out.

I was going to say that up here, my car takes about 5 minutes in the day time of normal driving to get to operating temps. I might pick up one of those gaskets, maybe an 2xIM spacer from Blacktrax some day.

yeah i guess the excess heat is due to the almost record 114 degrees we had here today, that and me driving like a bat outta hell. So hows the weather up in Biscuit, AZ? lol

What you are encountering is perfectly normal.

Consider that the air temp is 110+ and the UNDERHOOD temps in the summer, can top 200* quite easily. Water boils at 212* and at that temp your skin WILL be destroyed with 3rd degree burns.

It was always just as hot to the touch, but you had never paid attention to it before, because you had never had any reason to.

It will get hotter with slow in traffic driving.

It will get hotter with long term high speed driving.

It will get hotter with the AC on.

It does suck, but it is a part of life.

If you make a misting system, you better make sure it really atomizes the water i.e. VERY high PSI, because it would suck if you vapor locked it.

Also, keep in mind that the intake air temps are usually quite a bit lower than what the metal engine is at. The air is moving so fast, that most of the heat doesn't get conducted to the air. With the exception of slow driving, idling, etc.

okay well I decided to switch out my condensor fan switch? is this the one that turns the fans on when the car gets too hot? and also the one for the cooling fans to turn on after the car is shut off? But now, my temp needle seems to rise when i'm idling, it used to be right at the D4 indicator or right below it, now its at the N indicator as a point of reference. And the cooling fans dont come on after I shut the car off. I'm not too sure which switch controls what. So if anyone knows....

ah nevermind, I'm a dumbass, I thought the JY one was WORKING, apparently when I did the boiling water test, the JY one doesn't even have any resistance, and mine did...oh well. At least I had fun.

so did you solve the over heating problem

cause my car still does it, new coolant, new cap with pressure swith on it, and the fans are fine, I noticed the car revs up on it's own a little. The highest it goes to is like 1200. sometimes going to 5th gear it will just pull on it' own. Heat still doesnt work, and no a/c, my compressor clutch won't kick in. It wont run hot idling only on highway driving. What was the matter with your car, how did you solve the problem after your head gasket job.

well i think it was just so damn hot out here. It was like 115 or 118 those days for a week straight. I ended up putting in this Redline Water Wetter mixed w/ distilled water; that brought the temps down pretty well. My car no longer uses the cooling fans after I shut it off so I assume its doing its job. They claim a 28 degree reduction in temps by using this water wetter and distilled water.

Also an improperly bled cooling system can cause the revving. You need to get all those air bubbles out through that bleeder valve on the T-stat. Just open it up until you see a stream of coolant coming, and then close it. So far my car's running perfectly now. So i'm glad it all worked out.

its about 9 bucks a bottle at Pep Boys. I drained my rad. of coolant and added that and distilled water in, and its a pretty noticable diff. in temp. My cyl. head is a lot cooler, as is my entire engine bay in general.

So are you running straight distilled water with water wetter? It may be a fine choice for your climate.
