    speedo stuck?

I have had reverse speedo gauge on for over 2 year now and the speedo work just fine except a few time.

Usually it when the car is driven in the cool morning after leaving the car park overnight. Anyway the speedo usually get stuck at about 50-55mph I know I am going faster then that but the needle not moving any higher. Good thing my rpm tach still work so I can judge my speed depend on the rpm. The weird thing is once I slow down almost to a stop the speedo needle will go back down and then work normal again. I then test the speedo by taking the car 20mph-100mph+, and let it coase down to like 20mph again. everything work fine after that.

ps my speedo did drop to 0 two time in the past 2 year one was due to my dead alt engine shut off, other might be vss relate since after restarting the engine the speedo work fine again.

any just sharing my weird issue.

yeah check your VSS. And also check the wiring for it. It might be a loose connection or the wiring could be brittle and just broke or kinda got frayed and is half working/half not.
