bottom front of cabin gets really hot

I've always had this problem, for as long as I can remember anyways. The bottom front of my cb's cabin gets really hot. Right where our feet go, on both passenger and driver sides. It gets hot enough to where I can't rest my right foot on the center console plastic because I'll burn myself if I leave it there long enough.

All my fans are off, I have no a/c, temp knob is turned to cold all the way. I don't get it.

Does anyone else experience this? 00

It was a problem in my 240sx.
    Not in the CB.

I just ripped up the carpet and put in another layer of insulation.

It doesn't even have to be super long drive for it to get hot. I drive 20 minutes to and from work every day and that's enough for it to be really uncomfortable.

I haven't done anything to my carpet except clean it once.

Well, in my 240sx, I drove about 30 miles to and from work everyday.
The floorboard would get so hot that I could feel it through my shoes.

I just put another layer of insulation under the carpet and had no more problems.

The heater core is right there maybe the valve isn't closing all the way and coolant is flowing threw it.

well it should be absolutely normal to have the valve set to Hot and have coolant flowing... that shouldnt affect cabin temp at all... this has to be something else, im thinking exhaust heat...

I was going to suggest checking the exhaust heat shield, perhaps it's not there anymore? just a thought

Ill get this from time to time as well.

Joser, do you get any hot air coming out the vents too, or just the floorboard?

That's what I'm thinking the heat shield above the cat. converter is around this area underneath the floorpan or leaking exhaust under this area.

Well I've never messed with the heat shield above the cat, so I duno. Haven't checked it. Also, my vents do leak a little heat. I have to close them or else air will flow from them.

My car does the exact same thing but im pretty positive its because i dont have a heat shield and i know there's a small exhaust leak.
