We went to leave today, and the cb wouldnt start. I've had this problem before, and usually it's either one of the spark plugs wires popping off, or the other problem being i need to wait for a little bit. I have no idea why this is. It has absolutely no problem turning over, and when i wait, it usually starts right up. When it's cranking over, you can smell a little bit of gas, so it's getting fuel. As a precaution/tune up item since i have no idea how old the stuff is anyways, i got a new distributor button, cap, and plug wires. I'll install them tomorrow morning, but if this doesnt fix it, would the main relay cause this problem? I would have no problem resoldering it if that were the case, but i'm just not sure if it would cause a problem like that.

i replaced the distributor plug, rotor, and spark plug wires today and it runs/idles a lot smoother, but hasnt had any problem starting yet. I'll see if it does it again, the old contacts looked sorta worn out, maybe they were shorting in the humidity or something.
Oh, and one of the bolts for the cap broke right the hell off when i tried to loosen it. it's broke off clean on the cap's side, even with the housing. On the other side it has ~1 thread worth sticking out. Any thoughts on getting it out? I figured i could take a centerpunch and smack it out, but that would in all likelyhood ruin the threads, but i could just throw a little nut on the end of it. It'd be kinda ghetto, but it would make me feel better than running it with two bolts like it is now.Last edited by bmxfelon420; 07-12-2008, 05:15 AM.Cars:
