    Accelerating While A/C is on

Hey fellow CB7 tuners. Ever since i've owned my CB i've noticed a deceleration when I switch on the a/c. I know that having the a/c on slows the car down, but this is a little more strange. The compressor seems to be working fine but just has alot of grease and road gunk on it. I sprayed some brake cleaner on it to get rid of some of the grease. That seems to work for a hot minute and the car accelerated as if the a/c wasnt on but then the problem returned. Any idea whats going on?

    what problem returned?

it is normal for the car to experience power loss when the a/c in on.

the a/c compressor creates parasitic drag when engaged.

the a/c compressor will disengage at wide open throttle. later.

the extreme drag when accelerating with a/c on. It just seemed kinda odd and a little embarrasing when im at a stop light and a newer OEM accord drives up with its a/c on and dusts me even tho my CB is slightly modifed.

Newer Accords are faster. What mods do you have?

you're not going to beat a newer accord w/ your 15 yr old one that prob. has 150K+ miles on it. Even w/ a intake and header, you prob. just restored the power you lost over the years.

The new Accords are making 170hp, 190hp(EX) and, 250hp(V6) at the crank.

There is not way your going to dust them with a intake and/or exhaust(I'm guess this is what slightly modified means) which MAY have added about 5hp to what you were making before.
You need more power; ala turbo, engine swap, for heavily modified F22.

check how much refrigerant pressure, too much pressure will make the compressor work harder.
