I don't have time to wait for Honda to order it. Can I use gasket maker for a temp fix?

I really really doubt that would work. It is not worth going through the trouble of taking out your axle out not to fix it right. A dealership in your area has to have one in stock! Call around.

yeah but they aren't cheap at almost $20. make sure to clean the area first and that the seal is seated properly before returning the axle. gl man!

Yeah, try to get it flush. If you drive too far in it'll seap out. I usually put real thin film rtv sealant on the outside. My trans. was a lil pitted.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a picture or diagram of the hole viewed from the side of the trans once the driveshaft is off? Or, can you just explain to me if the seal is real accessible and easily changable? I'm trying to plan out this whole job before I go and do it.

you need number 14. i got it from advance auto. most of the ones dont have a metal ring around it. that one is a little beefier

they arent hard to change.....just gotta pull the axles out....once the axles are out you can just take a small flat head screw drvier and pry them out and press the new ones in....make sure the new ones are seated properly....

also a side note....on my h22 trans....each side had a slightly different sized seal....not sure if that applies to the f trans
