just have a simple question i need a third opinion on. If the knock sensor on an H22 (1992 JDM) is disconnected would VTEC not engage?

TTT. I'm pretty sure thats what is causing my no VTEC is the KS. I'm hoping to hell its not in the wiretuck.99.5% sure its not. Thanks guys. -
there is a guy over in the beginners area that claims he has no KS but can hit vtec no problem.
