    In a hurry...

Ok guys I have my H22 and am in the process of finaly getting a 5spd. The thing is, I know its good to do general maintnance before I put the motor in.

The problem with that is that I need the car asap. The engine is said to have only 45000 on it. I plan on driving it for maybe 6 months how I got it, and then pull it out, maybe even sooner. And then do the tune up along with other small performance mods.

    ok. So what's the question?

You don't need to pull it out to do a tune up.

The only thing I'd replace, since you're on a tight schedule/buget, would be the timing belt. Convert it to a manual tensioner while you're at it(you can use some parts from f22)

Well I plan to pull it out so I can paint my engine bay along with the whole car. And While the motor is out I plan on doing a balance shaft removal kit, and I also plan on taking the head off; having it milled and replacing the valve seals, because i noticed that there was some oil on them?

Is the timing belt and manual tensioner necessary right now or could I wait tell christmas time? I dont want to take off the valve cover, because I dont want to buy a new valve cover gasket right now
