motor reving to 5 grand when started

i just put my new f22a1 motor in and after i start it i have to turn it right back off because it revs up over redline and just keeps climbing so i turn it off because it sounds like it is going to blow itself up. so what do u think the problem is?

sounds like compression. it seems like it's turning over too easy. try throwing some oil into the cylnders and let it sit for a few hours.. then try starting the engine again.. Honda engines are known to dry out, and lose compression after sitting for a while without running..

if that dosnt solve it , i guess it could be a throttle cable problem.

When you turn on the car do you get any CEL's?

First thing I would check would be throttle cable as already stated.

i thinks you have to check this 3 item

          1.Your Vacuum line

          2.your EACV and Thermovalve

          3.Re-set your ECU

Just search it in this forum. you will know

          hope it will help you

            CHECK THE THROTTLEBODDY FIRST

make sure it closes all the way

No projects at the moment... danm

checked trottle, vaccum, and did a self diagnostic test on it and got no cel's
so i thought it might be the iac but since there are no cel's than it can't be that so i don't know what it is

              can anyone else help?

is the fast idle vavle part of the iac controller if so can the fast idle valve be bad and not throw a cel or will it have a cel because it is a apart of it of the iac system

no leaks. do u think it could be the fast idle vavle?

plug the hoses that go the fast idle vavle or take it off and plug the holes that are behind the fast idle vavle?

that sounds correct, but i might just be a vacume leak. thats one thing i hate about my cb7..........too many vacume lines!! does it stop idle surging when it warms up?

no just keeps doing it. i have only had it on for about 5 min strait tough so it should of warmed up. how many vaccum lines are there. i'm almost positive that i don't have any leaks

the reason i only had it on 5 min is because all i have on it is my header and i know the people we live by don't appreciate it much
