Well Iv been having this weird grinding/rattling noise under the hood while driving. I noticed today it happens only when my car is in overdrive and in between 1500 to 2000RPM only. Once I downshift into a different gear it disapears. I was thinking it is coming from the distributer cuz its like a spinning grinding sound.

i might have the same noise. but ming is when the car is in idle or at 1300rpms. and the sound comes from the belts. so i think that the timing belt might be griding off the cover or something.
are u sure it comes fromthe distributor. because only ticking noises should come from it.are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

Yea i was thinking the grinding could be from my alt belt cuz its old, but wouldnt the sound happen in different gears and not just in overdrive if its the belt? Im going to try changing the belt anyways and see what happens. Comment
