    HELP! oil leak

Well I just had my car on jacks and the bottom of my engine is completly coverd in oil. I checked the filter and its not coming from there and the drain bolt and its dry, But the bolts holding the oil pan are coverd and dripping with oil so is the problem the gasket? or the bolts arent tight enough? Help! Also theres seems to be a missing bolt too I think cuz there jus a empty hole where the other bolts are next to the pulley!

if its the oil pan... that'll be good. But the bolts only should be tightened down to ~9 lbs. If you tighten them more, you can warp the pan. I would suggest just getting a new gasket and putting it in.

Is the oil all around the oil pan? or just near the TB area? if its only near the front of the engine(drivers side) it could be any of the seals like cam/crank seals.

yes dont tighten the oil pan bolts alot...it compresses the seal hten causes it to leak.

        mine is leaking very little.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
