    Might have a problem.

My oil has been burning pretty fast and I did an full tune up about 2 weeks ago while under car,i noticed when I drained the old oil with engine flush to clean the gunk and stuff that engine flush came out only with maybe a half quart of oil(note that I did a tune up 2 weeks ago). Before this tune up I was driving my car for 3 weeks without oil because it turns out that my oil sensor unit was unplugged and I dont know how,so don't ask me how that happened cuz I don't know. Now to present time,I was driving my car today and went in to vtec mode but when I hit vtec it engaged but bogged out and carried out like an non-vtec engine, Iput in a little oil and that did the trick but after an hour it did it again,so I had a friend rev my car to 7000 rpms there was some smoke but it was black I'm running rich due to the ecu that I have. my question is what is causing my car to burn oilI'm not leaking oil at all I check 3x's already I'm guessing piston rings but no blue smoke,I'm to check the plugs right now.

    Lower plug seals

Obviously you haven't checked yet, but my bet would be lower plug seals.

Hope that is your issue and you can fix it in an hour and for a few bucks.

        What ECU are you running?

I did a little research, and according to my resources, black smoke is due to

        - Dirty air filter
        - Fuel injectors may be leaking.
        - there may be some other type of ignition problem.

but thats just what i found. dont quote me on that.

White tip plugs usually indicate a lean mixture I believe.

The vtec solenoid will not allow it to actuate if there isn't sufficient oil pressure. None of this explains where you oil is going. If there is no leak and the plugs are dry, you seem to have a mystery.

so what can I do to balance the fuel, do any of you guys think that me running lean is the reason why my oil is disappearing.

              Nope

Should be two different problems, I know you didn't want to hear that.

If it is running lean (I would take pictures of the plugs and post them)

Then you can follow the process for adjusting your distributor.

You will want to retard the timing a little, if you are dead on where you should be and you are still running rich, then there is still a problem, but atleast retarding the timing will prevent you from causing damage.

We can go from there, but for now make sure you are running lean and then search for the distributor adjustment thread

              As for the oil...

Well its going somewhere, so if it isn't leaking at the engine, then you are probably burning it. How much are you loosing exactly?

check your coolant and if it looks brown and foamy,
                - Blown head gasket
                - Cracked cylinder head.
                - Leaking oil-to-water cooler.

If there is some smoke from the exhaust,
                - The PCV system is not working properly
                - The engine may have mechanical problems.
                - The engine's piston rings may be worn.
                - The engine's valve seals may be worn.

but if there is no trace of smoke from the exhaust,
                - The PCV system is not working properly.(again)
                - The engine may have mechanical problems.(again)
                - The engine's valve seals may be worn.(again)
                - The engine's gaskets and seals may be damaged(again)

OR your engine may be burning oil thanks to worn piston rings.
OR your engine could also be leaking oil thanks to a bad gasket or cracked part. Or you could be losing oil through the head gasket into the cooling system.

coolant is fine,i check that every 2 days. I'm not leaking oil from the head gasket. but when I was adjusted my distributor i had oil on my hand like I smeared it then it click distributor seals could that be it. Just a thought I'm going to change them and see

                    Yes it could

There is a thread on here for replacing dizzy seals. If I remember correctly it also explains how to replace the igniter as well. This is a good idea as it is one of those happens at the worst times for no reason problems.
