    A/c Help!!!!

Ok this is the problem. I haven't had a/c or heating for about 2 years and living in Florida I would love A/C again. So one day I turned on my car and I noticed that my car was barely blowing air and I had it turned up all the way. After a few months I said forget it because I thought I could just roll the windows down and not have any problems but just recently I noticed my compressor was screwed up so I replaced it and now nothing. I tried putting freon into the car but nothing, and yes I tired putting in the oil or whatever you have to put into the compressor to make it move. My dad did something to make the compressor move but it still won't work like it suppose to. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Please help I know its winter but here its getting a little hot again. I need this before spring.

I'm thinking the system was empty(obviously) when you installed the compressor. The compressor will not kick on at all with out any R12 in the system unless you jump it dry. The oil lubes the compressor and there also has to be so much pressure for the switch to kick on if I remember right.

They way I do it is I jump the pressure switch terminals or turn the compressor on manually via battery and add freon at the same time. Once you get a certain amount in there it will stay on. The pressure switch is at the front where the alt, cruise control are. Make sure you use R12 if the sysytem hasn't been converted.

You stated that your car barely blows air when you turned the knob all the way. This could also be your blower motor going bad. Its located under the dash behind the glove box. Could also have debris blocking in there. I'd check that out as well.

      Good luck with this.

      Sold, but not forgotten.

Well it blow very little was before I got the compressor but I'll try jumping the compressor like Fake Thug said. I hope this works. But if not, does anyone know what else it could be?

Maybe the climate controls are bad?
