    EGR Valve?

    What are the main symptoms that an EGR Valve has gone bad?
    Anyone on here ever had theres go bad?
    If so how much did it cost to get fixed?

      thanks. i think this might be my problem. i just hope it dont cost to much to fix

        try taking it off and cleaning it. you can also see if the valve is stuck. later.

            to clean? no, i just cleaned mine out 3 days ago because it was clogged

              as long as you have a wobble extension, it's easy to get off.

              here's my before and after.

                    besides taking it off, all you need is a can of carb cleaner and a metal pick or screwdriver.

                    you unhook a vacuum line, unplug a wire harness, and unscrew 2 bolts. you don't even need a new gasket. later.

                        well i cleaned my EGR Valve tonight but i still dont know how to figure out if i need to replace it or not. I guess ill find out tomorrow if thats what the problem was. and come to find out a new one is going to cost me $130.

                        Any know how to check if the EGR Valve has gone bad and needs replaceing?

                          it should throw a CEL. it stops working when the valve no longer opens and closes. later.
