Anyone ever heard of a straight through intake manifold with just air horns and butterflies? I think this would make your car hella fast getting all that air into the engine. Take a look at this pic, this is kinda what im talking about.

its pretty damn loud, but what i dont understand is why not make a custom system in which a aluminum box cases that area and a longer intake is created....longer pipe is made and then air velocity increases....plus a filter =)...
or just get 4 small filters and shove em in there.
or at least a pannel filter to put over it...What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

eh... the high rpm thing is a myth...as is the fuel economy...
You can elongate the runners to tune for a lower rpm band...
they make a ton of filters and airboxes...
they can be fuel efficient if you keep your foot out of the throttle which kind of defeats the purpose of them in the first place... not as economical as a factory pulse tuned manifold sytem though...
They probably wouldn't do well on a stock F22... but up the compression and slap a high lift high duration cam in and you will be able to realize the benfits much better than on a stock motor...plus they are much better at handling a huge cam than a manifold...
It's NOT that hard to fab up a manifold...
They are horribly loud when you run open stacks... but are much quieter when an airbox is fitted...
the real hard part that no one usually accounts or plans for is tuning them perfectly for part throttle.. WOT tuning is super easy but it's the mid to low throttle angles that suck...plus setting them up based using a MAP based setup... TPS based sytems have their problems also... I haven't seen anyone adequately defeat the MAP/TPS blending challenge yet without using a pricey standalone like the EMS...RIP Lifsatrip7
