    Clutch recommendations

Ok I SEARCHED with no result.

Anyhooo my clutch is fried. Like it barely made it home. So I was messing around on E*** and found some clutch and flywheel kits for around 220 shipped to my door. I did see some people had problems with XTD so I wanna stay away from them. All I want is a good solid clutch with great reliability thats cheap. I wanted to go with a lightweight flywheel while i was in the transmission but idk what I wanna do yet. And I dont care about how hard it is to press in the clutch pedal either. I also will probably be using this car to tow things since I dont think my wagon will hold up much longer to pulling my little trailor around.

In my old 2000 civic Si I had a ACT HDSS(heavy duty street strip) clutch with their Streetlite flywheel and I loved it. It was a little heavy in traffic, but otherwise it was just right for me personally. Looking back though I still would have gotten the clutch, but i would have just resurfaced the OEM flywheel. I really didn't notice much of a difference performance wise (at least not for the money)

The only thing with the ACT clutches is the typically let out really early. It took me awhile to get use to it.

I wouldn't get a light weight flywheel if you plan to tow anything. you need that off the line torque the heavier flywheel gives you.

I have used XTD clutches in both my f22b dohc swap and my h22a swap and now i just ordered one for my f22a in preperation for swap or boost ... the main problem people have had with XTD clutches are there are some cheap imitation ones on Ebay ... i know the f22b dohc swapped CB is still running that clutch with no problems and i drove the h22a one for months with no problems before i sold it ... i guess the thing you should watch for is you get what you pay for ... my XTD stage 2 clutch kit without a flywheel cost me $150 and i ordered a fidannza 8Ib flywheel for another $150 ... just watch sellers feedback before buying from them
