Strange clicking sound coming from slave cylinder

So today, I noticed a weird clicky feeling as I press down the clutch. Also, the clicking is audible and it seems to be coming from the slave cylinder. The car drives perfectly find, but I'm worried that one day it will just fail on me. Could the sound be a precursor for a failing slave cylinder? What can be causing the clicking sound?

My clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing are all new with only about 5k miles on it. However, as far as I know, the slave cylinder has never been changed. Currently the car has about 180k miles.

lube the point where the slave cylinder sits in the cluch release fork with grease and see if that helps

hmm...i'll try that, but not sure if thats the problem

the clicking almost sounds like an old garage spring as the garage door opens and closes. not sure if that's an accurate comparison
