    Toasting a Distributor

Is it possible to toast the sensors in a distributor?

I recently did an H22 Swap and when I fired it up I received a code 9 which meant the CYP sensor in the distributor was malfunctioning.

I took it back and they were very surprised the sensor was fried. I'm getting a new distributor today.

Are there any things I should double check before putting in the new distributor?

(I checked the timing and it seemed fine)

It was a faulty dizzy. The fellas at the shop were implying that I probably screwed something up. I doubled checked the wiring popped in the new dizzy and no more code 9

cyp is your cylinder position sensor. They do go out from time to time.
