    is it hard.

i just changed the radiator. then i put coolant in it and let it urn at fool blast heater. fater awhile i find out that there is a leak in the back side. i go to check it out and i see kind of a river coming donw from the hard pipe that goes on the bottom of the thermostat housing??? wtf is that the heater core house????? so i turn the ac on the cold this time. and the leaking stops.
so i am cool with it. but this mornig while the car was cool it did it again while i had the heater one. i drove a while without the heater andi find out that its not leaking anymore? so i let the heater at full blast and i check under the car and no leaks.
wtf is goign on with my car???
why does it do only in the mornig?
is it hard to change the heater core hose?????

Funny, I just did this on Sunday...

The inlet hose for the heater core comes off the motor, just behind the thermostat housing. There's a thumb-sized pipe it mounts on.

It goes back and down to the control valve for the heater core just under the firewall. About a foot long, molded.

I suggest getting the hose from your stealership, it actually costs less than Checkers and you won't need to cut it to fit.

Real simple job to do. The two clamps are the pinch type and the rear one is easy to get at. The upper one is harder just because of space, but you can clamp a small set of visegrips on it and you're good to go.

The hoses will be corroded on there and you need to do a lot of wiggling and pulling. The top one is hard because there's no room to yank on it, so do the bottom one first so you can have some hose to hold on to.

Also, be careful on the bottom end since it clamps right on the control valve. The valve is made out of plastic and it would be easy to snap that outlet off.

Oh ya, there's a small clip about halfway down the hose to hold it in place. Much like the upper radiator hose has.

what he said, dealership has better hoses for that.

      i did mine and man...

its nice to have a blade...really just chop that shit off...and get rid of the old clamps..buy some new clamps at kregan that are easier to put on...the screw kinds...and then get some kind of lubricant on the fittings so its easier to put on.

      word of advice..

leave the new hose in the sun...this will react with the black surface creating mroe heat and more flexablility...

putting it on, try to go from bottom to top wiggling it...it may take some time but trust me it will work.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
